Dr. Courtney Paré

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about me and my passion.
My name is Courtney. I’m a naturopathic doctor with a passion for mental health.  My goals are to change the way we talk about it, increase knowledge surrounding it, reduce stereotypes associated with it, and expand upon the conventional medical management of it.  Most of all, I’m passionate about helping those struggling with mental health to truly heal and get their life back.

My area of expertise is in the holistic, homeopathic management of adult and childhood anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, behavioral disorders, grief and trauma.  Having extensive experience with psychiatric conditions in both my personal and professional life has led me to create an effective therapeutic model for healing.  Homeopathic medicine, combined with my professional strengths of empathy, dedication, understanding and transparency allows me to form a dynamic, integrative and completely individualized plan to help each patient start feeling like themself again and accomplish their healthcare goals.

I graduated, with highest academic achievement, from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona.  While there, I completed over 1,200 hours of direct patient care in a clinical setting with over 600 hours specifically devoted to studying homeopathic case taking and prescribing. Since graduating, I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings; practicing as a primary care physician before pursuing my dream to open a relaxing and non-judgmental healing space devoted specifically to supporting mental health and nourishing the body with what it needs to heal itself.

I care deeply about my patients, and my ultimate goal is to help each one feel happy and vital enough to discover, reach, and start enjoying life at their optimum potential.  The path to getting there is different for each patient, and I am dedicated to doing my part to help each one recognize and remain on that path.
I love my career! But, like each of us, there is more to me than who I am in the office . . .

A Little About The "Non-Professional" Me:
I moved 15 times before settling in Richmond, Virginia
4 cross country trips, 6 houses, 9 apartments, 5 states and one trusty kitty cat
on my lap through it all! {who says cats don’t travel well!?}

Ah, the life of a student turned intern turned graduate!
Happy animals make my heart smile
Furry little kittens, tail wagging doggies, polar bears with two baby cubs, elephants taking a bath, otters holding hands while they sleep, wildlife living their wild life and humans helping to make that happen.
All of this. Ah, I just can’t get enough!
I lose my keys a minimum of 10 times per week
Not a very fun fact, but a true one nonetheless. Totally need to add 10 minutes to any commute time to account for a game of key hide-and-seek before leaving the house.
I’m a Disney fanatic
Disney will never get old. Or maybe I’ll never get too old for Disney…
Disney trivia is sort of my thing. I turn into a little kid when I see a preview for the next Disney Pixar movie coming out.
And don’t even get me started on the Disney Princesses …
